A nation that professes democracy and unity in diversity to the world where ground realities are a religiously polarized nation with wide disparities in incomes and access to justice, where the only signs of democracy are the frenzy of elections with one section of society doing extremely well can never be a happy nation. Where power and money rule, the soul of the Constitution, accountability and ethics are being increasingly thrown to the winds with symbolic flag hoisting, words and slogans, it is time to deeply introspect what we support, oppose, what we ignore pretending we cannot see and allow! It has to reflect in how we treat each other and raise our children. Why is a small state, a paradise being devastated with the Opposition being bulldozed, residents not being consulted, and the government can even go to the Supreme Court against a High court decision and generally against the people’s strong objections? We must commend the CM for shifting the Unity Mall and Prashasan Stambh from Chimbel which is a small step towards a happy State!
