I visited the area at St Inez cemetery recently. The situation is so pathetic that even the pavement at the cemetery adjacent to the wall is in deplorable condition. The PWD work is in full swing, but it doesn’t appear that this main road will be fully repaired and motorable this year, at least. There are a number of workers who have been asked by CCP and PWD to expedite the repairs, which, at a few places, involve deep excavation. I don’t think this will be completed even by January next year.
I decided to get more glimpses of this area and saw further roads, one going to Taleigao and the other to Tonca side. In fact, both these roads are in progress, and the PWD is executing this repair work. Heavy digging is going on, and especially the surrounding houses and trees are very badly affected. All these nearby families are really suffering on account of such deep excavation and noise.
