This is with reference to the report, "High court slams government over rampant hill cutting - The Goan Everyday September 10, 2022."
It seems like we are all thick skinned people. How else does one explain the rampant hill cutting in the state? How else does one explain the brutal hacking of trees, destruction of forests across the country? We have been facing the consequences of our mindless destruction of the environment in the form of torrential uncertain rains, floods, hurricanes the world over. And yet we fail to come to the realisation that we are on the road to disaster.
Do the courts have to tell the government or us, that this cutting down of hills is going to seriously impact our environment? It seems like we are on the road to self destruction. It is said, you can take the horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink. The message is clear, stop all self destructive activities or face the consequences!
