Not once, but on many occasions, Trump has said that Modi loves him and he (Trump) has the ability to destroy the political career of Narendra Modi, this is very troubling. What is it that Trump has on Modi that he is able to make such a damning statement? From having a 100 billion dollar surplus trade with US, India has now committed to import goods worth 100 billion dollars every year for the next five years. What that means is that our 100 billion dollar surplus, that is around Rs 9,00,000 crores surplus will now become zero, not just next year but for the next five years. We are being forced to do this deal. We are being forced to stop buying crude from Russia and Iran. We are being forced to drop our inward tariff from 30 to 130% down to zero per cent. We are being forced to accept 18 per cent tariff on all our exports and are being threatened with 25 per cent extra tariff if we decide to resume oil purchase from Russia and Iran.
