Some districts like Kanchipuram received heavy rainfall leading to traffic problems. NDRF team was sent to landfall areas and  alerted around Nagapattinam , Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu on the occasion. State government announced public  holiday in four districts. Tamil Nadu hardly received any rain during the year but it's only during Diwali festival that the state gets rain showers. The state has drinking water problem for many years and even today people buy  water at Rs 10 to 20 per bucket. The nature has played havoc in state and hope it will subside and give relief to people in due course of time.
