All parties taking a cue from the ruling party are using the internet, social media and every means of propaganda to divert people’s attention from real issues and take maximum advantage of their short memories! Blatant lies even on the floor of the house and in courts, where government is the biggest litigant against its citizens, are done with impunity! The Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) is becoming a joke, devastating floods are getting worse! Trees are sought to be redefined by law, so they have to now be doubly bigger to qualify as trees. Recall how coconut trees were sought to be defined as grass? Goa has long back been declared ODF free and the Bhumiputra Bill was passed despite strong opposition! A few months before election there is a rush to fill potholes/ build damaged roads, give jobs to youth, police and government agencies harass the opposition. Agencies like NCB go after Bollywood and electronic media goes berserk over small time leisure drug consumers but have not the same enthusiasm in nabbing drug lords (haul at Mundra port 3,000 kilograms but not much publicity).
