A power-packed day and celebration akin to a fair

A power-packed day it must have definitely been. One could see the enthusiasm and the euphoria right from the time the results of the election were out. Five years after the party formed the government in 2017, they seemed to have got a majority on their own. One could see the power that was displayed at the swearing-in ceremony with high-profile personnel present at the function. However, swearing-in ceremonies in the country in recent times have become some sort of a public celebration, much like a fair with the function shifting to open ground or stadiums. It gives one the impression that such functions are now a sheer display of power. Our elected representatives seem to forget that they have been elected by the people not to be served but to serve the masses. They must ensure that power does not go to their heads.
