In the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat Pomburpa “ Olaulim in Ward No 1 there exists a narrow road turn near the Olaulim Cemetery from the time of colonial rule but nothing has been done to widen it even now. On several occasions, the authorities have tarred the road but have failed to widen the narrow turn for safety of vehicle drivers. The bypass road leading to Mapusa used by two wheelers, four wheelers, light cars, good carriers and heavy trucks to connect to the main road ahead which reduces the distance by 1/3 km but causes great inconvenience to the traffic movement when goods carriers and heavy trucks meet each other and is most dangerous at the turn.
To reduce the traffic inconvenience, there is a need to install two sign boards, one at the turn and the other at the exit point as ‘No entry for goods carriers and heavy trucks’. Hope the Village Panchayat will wake up and ensure safety in its jurisdiction.
