Action against Pvt clinics a good move

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Sunday threatened to take action against private hospitals that refer patients to GMC at the eleventh hour after taking maximum benefits of the DDSY scheme.

This practice has been going on for a long time as most private hospitals don’t want to show that the death occurred in their hospitals and want to push the blame on GMC.

No health minister from the previous regimes had the guts to crack down on such hospitals and Vishwajit Rane has taken a step in the right direction which needs to be applauded.

This will surely put the private hospitals on notice not to take common man for granted.

We only hope that out health minister walks his talk and goes ahead with the promised inquiry and does not buckle under political pressure.
