Independent MLA from Curtorim Reginaldo Lourenco’s move to support the BJP is understandable. Sitting in the Opposition will not get him anything and Curtorim will lag behind.
Considering the Congress failures in the past, if Reginaldo gets a plum position in the new Government it will be a win-win situation for him and for Curtorim.
But then, what happens to his ideology and his stand on the three linear projects? Will he give them up and toe the BJP line?
DOUBTS ON RGP: The Revolutionary Goans Party sprung a big surprise in winning the St Andre seat but many Goans still have serious questions after analysing the results.
First, was the No. 1 Objective not to get rid of the BJP? Had it not been for RG splitting votes BJP would have lost 9-11 seats.
Secondly, there are certain seats where RG should have known that they do not stand a chance, then in that case why did RG not give them up and allow another winnable party to win and defeat the BJP in that particular seat?
Thirdly, why did RG not field a candidate in Aldona where the Congress Candidate Carlos went through by defeating the BJP candidate, as a result of no vote splitting in the anti-BJP vote?
Now, that the elections are over, does RG have any plans to tackle the three linear projects that the BJP will push through? If not, will it again help the BJP?
The ball is now in RG’s court to prove everybody wrong.
