Attacks on complainants have become regular feature in Goa

The recent attack on a lady reporter by some disgruntled goons hired by a tourist businessmen along the Anjuna coastal belt which stretches to Siolim is not acceptable. Such attacks on reporters or complainant has become a regular feature in Goa. Siolim locals too have made similar complaints. Governments in power do double speak, they make laws and allow them to be misused.  The students are having difficulty in studying their lessons as music is played beyond the permissible sound decibels and to top it up beyond 11pm timings. Many of these tourist joints obtain a licence for running the bar and restaurants, has the Govt made provision to issue licences for open air dance music floors? The police dept entrusted with the powers to book the culprits under the Environment Act of 1986 let these violators continue playing loud music. The High Court should intervene and make the GPSCB and the Deputy Collector responsible and ensure that the act is followed on merit. Let local citizens be given their right to have a peaceful sleep. Those people who come to enjoy during the nights leaving their state or country to come to Goa should be a more sensible.
