Ban or stop production of small volume sachets

Sachets of shampoo, hair oil, different powders (soap, face, detergents), pickles, tobacco products etc. are available in many States. These handy sachets cost anywhere between Re1 to Rs10 that contain a very small volume/quantity of the product, are made from plastic, paper and aluminum foil. Considering the huge quantity of packets of different products manufactured by several companies the sachets are of concern as the used ones add to the garbage and also result in environmental pollution. Either the government should ban or the companies could stop on their own the production of sachets that have low volume or quantity of the product. This step could be profitable for the companies too. The other issue is that shop keepers give out sachets in lieu of small change. What will a bald person do with sachets of oil and shampoo?

Easy accessibility benefits persons with disabilities

It is learnt that the state government has started working towards making 30 government buildings fully accessible for persons with disabilities (PwDs) under phase I as part of the Accessible India Campaign. Under Phase II of the project the State Social Welfare Department has reportedly decided to make the next 45 government buildings and a few beaches such as Calangute, Colva and Baga accessible for PwDs.
