BJP’s ‘achhe din’ promise a misnomer

The slogan ‘achhe din’ appears to be a jumla to garner votes. The prices of fuels and cooking gas will lead to inflation and the unprecedented burden on the working people. The government is oblivious to the concerns of the common man and is more concerned with promoting the interests of corporates and their cronies. Price hike of basic commodities is unfortunate for the middle class and poor.

The Centre is yet to take steps to check the price hike of essential commodities. The recently elected BJP had promised three LPG cylinders per household in its manifesto. Before elections, the party made tall promises of achieving rapid progress in the country. The country is suffering from high inflation and unemployment. The post-pandemic recovering economy is turning out to be a nightmare for the common man whose existence is looking bleak. The BJP slogan “sab ka saath, sab ka vikas” holds no good as there is no ‘saath’ and ‘vikas’ when common people suffer price rise.
