While the debate on the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine rages, gross favoritism and absolute nepotism in its dispensing has surfaced. In a glaring instance of openly defying the stated Government policy of only vaccinating Health care workers in this first phase of vaccination, a private Hospital in Margao has listed a dozen of its family relatives and friends for vaccination.
This dozen which includes former Chief Minister’s younger daughter-in-law are scheduled to receive their out of turn COVID-19 vaccine on January 30th at the private hospital in Margao.
Is this all in tune with BJP’s loud talk of “Sabka ka Saath, Sabka ka Vikas. We seem to be nowhere close to an ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’.
Will the Chief Minister, Health Minister, Chief Secretary and Health Secretary please look into this brazen violation of government policy which is set to happen?
The Health Minister has assured that he was giving immediate directions to his officials that the COVID-19 vaccination should be strictly as per the government set guidelines.
His prompt action must be appreciated. It can't be that many are called and few are chosen.
