The recent illegal recruitment of around 37 nurses at theDental College amply depicts the interference of politicians in selectingcandidates of their choice. It seems the list of selected candidates wasfinalised much before the declaration of the test results. Similarly, appointment letters were issued to the candidates selected by the HealthMinister and other cabinet colleagues. Above all, most of the recruits happenedto be from Sattari. The Health Minister went to the extent of appointingcandidates who happened to be the ultimate voters of his constituency. Suchunjust practices render injustice to the really capable and efficient aspirantsfor the posts concerned in various government departments. This illegalrecruitment needs to be condemned by everyone. It is the need of the hour forthe state administration to investigate this recruitment scam and initiateappropriate action against politicians who were responsible for this. Let thesaid politician be sacked at once so that it serves as a lesson to hiscounterparts. Inefficient, inexperienced candidates selected by politiciansshould not reign supreme under any circumstances. It is the well-educated,experienced, efficient and talented candidates that should be selected for thevacant posts in different government departments. Only merit should be the solecriteria during the selection process.
