Cong must introspect on N Goa performance

If Zilla Panchayat elections are billed to serve as a litmus test for the  forthcoming 2027 Assembly polls, then going by the BJP's  present success of 29 seats out of 50, we can  surely expect the party to romp home comfortably in 2027 for another 5 -year stint of governance in Goa. Anti-incumbency arising out or rampant corruption and poor governance seem to take a back seat, unaffected by people's  votes and a weak opposition. The Congress may feel upbeat and even jubilant over their  resounding success in Salcete, and reaching double figures,  but it needs to do some serious introspection on its poor performance in the North. Secondly, the poor performance of other opposition parties may once again  compel the Congress to go it alone in the next election which will once more prove disastrous to the party's hope of returning to power in the state. A very sad situation it now finds itself.
