Consumer suffers most due to high living costs

The consumer is at the receiving end to the greatest extent in this regime of high cost of living. Let us consider the mathematics of the present scenario of packaged stuff. It has been observed that the quantity of packaged produce has reduced per packet but the price of the packet is the same. In fact the number of grams of reduction in packaged stuff would be any where in the range of 10% to 50%. So the consumer is getting less for the same price. Thus the manufacturer does not bear any loss. Also the GST imposed on the said reduced size packet is the same, since the price is the same and thus the government is paid the same amount in taxes.  So as far as what is actually happening is that the consumer is shouldering the burden at the cost of the manufacturer and the government. This is a travesty of fate that seems to make it even harder in the present circumstances when inflation is eroding the purchasing power of the fixed income working class.
