With cases and deaths rising, Goa govt has stopped all Covid centres. Why? Because most centres are in hotels and the tourist season is starting! Govt has no will to enforce even minimal SOPs like wearing of masks. Along with broken bottles we shall soon see masks being littered as well.
1. Tourists must wear only 3 layered washable cloth masks.
2. Hotels must keep steel boxes rented out to their guests. Any disposable mask is to be deposited in this. After 3 days the same is to be couriered to the guest’s home on chargeable basis.
3. Hotels must provide their guests with disposable masks with hotel logo. If Guest wishes to use their own: the hotel name must be stamped on the same
4. Guests found not wearing masks on streets must be fined along with the Hotel of stay.

RTmicro PCR units are now in the market costing around just 7 lakhs with capability of testing 10 samples per 8 hours. GCCI/TTAG must ensure factories and Hotels must group together and purchase these units. They cannot shirk their responsibilities. Depending on the number of workers at Cutbona jetty, the required number of such units must be purchased by the combined trawler owners.
This will be a big boon to comorbid people and significantly reduce deaths.
All ISL teams are loaded with crores of money saved from being taxed. All teams must have the Rs 15 lakh RTmicro PCR units of around 15 lakhs. With test kits @ Rs1500 they need to regularly test their players.
It is surprising that units like MPT, Goa Shipyard, ONGC, Cipla etc manned by high profile people who consider locals unfit for employment have not started in-house testing. It is evident, hard-working means getting away by shirking responsibility.
