The Aivao road converging with the Dona Paula circle is turning dangerous day by day with the traffic increasing by leaps and bounds, thereby putting the local residents living in the area in a spot of bother.
Locals from the vicinity complain that heavy traffic zooms up the narrow slope going towards Dona Paula while traffic comes down the slope is equally fast.
Of late there have been quite a number of mishaps in the area, but fortunately minor ones. The situation could get worse in the coming months with the tourism season commencing.
The only solution that comes to mind is an overhead bridge connecting the Dona Paula circle which could give some relief to the residents.
Also the RTO officials could make their presence felt regularly at the spot to tackle the heavy rush of vehicles.
Hope better sense prevails and authorities take note of the situation.
