Time to curb stray dog menace

I am very pleased to read that most of the stray dogs in Goa are now going to be vaccinated and sterilized. Congratulations to MLAs Digambar Kamat and Vijai Sardesai if they were involved in making this happen.

It is a good first step forward in the right direction. But it is very important to remember that if vaccination and sterilization stops there will be an increase in population. And unless they are also fed, they will be hungry!

They will then find their favourite places “ the beaches “ and will attack people like the 4-year-old Russian boy who was mauled a few months back.

The urgent second step now is to curb the numbers roaming freely on the streets and beaches. Surely there are bright minds in Goa that can come up with a solution!

The tourist season has just commenced and our children will soon be on Diwali vacation. It is time for authorities to take quick action.
