Covid and the virus-related deaths have rattled humanity. But even in these despondent times, let us take a U-turn and give sincere gratitude for the many seemingly negligible unnoticed blessings in our lives such as the memories of our children growing up with a sense of wonder at the created world, with the blessing of being alive in every sense of the word. Let our memories be dictated by beautiful moments of life-giving love shared with our loved ones, rather than by the number of tragic grief-stricken fatalities within our families (though we lift them in prayer). If we have among us those heartbroken hopeless who feel defeated in life; even those in a constant frenzied state of news-driven panic attacks, stop! take a U-turn this minute and say to that despondence: I choose hope, I have hope, for hope never fails. So, the next time you find yourself with masked hearts and frenzied emotions, breathing in the fierce “order” of the supposedly new world (sigh!) stop! Take a U-turn and say: Give Hope in God a chance. Give our children the legacy of staying hopeful.
