Goans were in for a rude shock with thenews of the abrupt tranfer of Goa GovernorSatya Pal Malik to a distant northeastern state.This Governor was perceived to standup and speak out without fear or favour,for the good and the rights of Goa andGoans.It would seem that, as a reward, he hasbeen shunted out to a distant state.Whether by his choice or chance, no onewill really know.But the common public perception is thathe paid the price for fearlessly speakingout the truth and standing up for what isright and the good of Goa and Goans.Unfortunately it would appear that thepowers that be do not understand orrespect the fact that constitutional authoritiesare appointed to be loyal to, and touphold, the constitution and the rule ofwhat is right, and not to be blindly loyal toa party or to a person.
