The much hype of the 24 hour door-to-door parcel serviceby India Post does not hold water as I would like to narrate anightmarish experience I encountered with their Speed Postdelivery service during the lockdown period where my ArticleNo: EA209155141IN bearing my driving licence was handedover to them by Regional Transport Office (RTO) for delivery tomy residence at Vashi, l Navi Mumbai, in July 2020 which regrettablyhas not been delivered till date even after appealingto them to direct the same to my Goa address owing to theongoing lockdown restrictions.Even after sending several reminders by speed post lettersand followed by Emails to the Postmaster General, Navi Mumbaiand other postal authorities, the elusive article containingmy renewed driving licence has not yet reached me. The BeatPostman and Postmaster of Vashi Post Office where the consignmentwas assigned for delivery are playing truant in thedelivery process by shifting responsibilities.As a last resort, I have lodged my complaint on the PG portalof the Ministry of Grievance, an initiative headed by the PM,wherein citizens can highlight the problems faced while dealingwith Government departments and officials.By highlighting and exposing the vexed issue through the esteemedcolumns of your newspaper better sense may prevailon India Post by duly returning the long awaited parcel to theaddressee.
