Govt duty-bound to listen to farmers

The new farm reforms are discriminatory and a direct attack on the peasants who have sufficient grounds to demand these. They are the backbone of society providing us with food. Haven't they been suffering for too long? The government should have consulted the farmers' representatives before the bills were passed in Parliament. Yes, agriculture has to be modernised, but it should not be done in a manner the farmers want.

Not to risk people’s lives during the current pandemic, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should step in and stop the Carnival festivities from being held this year. The prevailing situation is not at all conducive to hold Carnival which will lead to a very huge congregation of thousands with social distancing next to impossible.
