Govt must intervene to curb soaring prices of coconuts

Coconut prices are soaring in the state of Goa and people are worried about the traditional dishes like Goan sweet dishes, xacuti and Goan curry with fish and prawns. The tender coconut water is sold at Rs 60 and the normal coconut for over Rs 60 according to various rates in the market. Goa has droves of coconut trees but due to some kind of sickness or pest the price are gone high.  Since coconut is the symbol of Goa Forward Party the party chief Vijai Sardesai should highlight the issue and the Goa government should buy the coconut from other States and countries so that Goans get to buy coconuts at a reasonable price.  The coconut pluckers are charging high rates to climb on trees to remove coconuts. The Goans should keep our traditional businesses alive. Nowadays every single business is taken over by outsiders and we have to pay the money demanded by them. Requesting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to look into this matter and solve the problems of the people of Goa.
