Govt needs to address cause of drop in Christian population

Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai while speaking at an event in a church at Kochi has reportedly said that the Christian population in Goa has come down to 25 per cent from the earlier 36 per cent and that of Islamic community have gone up to 12 per cent from the earlier three per cent. Well, the reason why Christian population has declined in Goa is because most of its community members have already migrated to European countries along with their families for greener pastures as our respective governments over the years have miserably failed this particular community by not offering  incentives or not providing them with job opportunities. Well, as far as everyone knows, Goan Hindus were 50%, Christians were 48% and Muslims were 2% at the time of Goa's Liberation. Unfortunately today if the Muslim population has gone up in the state then that's because hordes of non-Goans or migrants have settled in Goa for better opportunities since liberation. Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai should therefore first dare to question the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government as to why the Christian population has come down so drastically.
