Former Curtorim Zilla Panchayat member J Santan Rodrigues has said that "Cuddtari Village” is a beacon of sustainability, since it has been pioneering Gram Swaraj for over 40 years through traditional methods and community-led initiatives.
“In collaboration with the Goa PRIs Union, Agro-Biodiversity Cuddtari Team Members, partly supported by Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB), and in association with the Wizards of Mugali Club, our village has successfully harnessed local wisdom and resources to drive development”, he said.
Santan pointed out that the approach emphasizes traditional farming practices; Agro-biodiversity conservation; Community-led decision-making and Self-reliance and autonomy.
“Through this grassroots approach, we have built a resilient and thriving community, showcasing the power of Gandhian philosophy in action. Our village serves as a model for sustainable development, inspiring others to adopt community-led initiatives for a better future. We appreciate the contributions of all our partners, including the Wizards of Mugali Club, in our journey towards a more sustainable and equitable world”, he said.
