With the spread of the Covid-19 virus, precautionary measures such as wearing of mask, social distancing and use of hand sanitizers have been implemented in the State. However, we come across instances of some people not sporting face masks. There are others who lower the mask or carry it in their hand just for name-sake or to evade police action. No seriousness whatsoever has been exhibited turning the situation scary to one and all.
In Ponda, such instances are quite common. One wonders if the authorities initiate necessary action against the defaulters in this regard. In terms of assuring safety, the authorities should take up a drive in the temple town against non-wearing of face masks and also if it is worn below the nose or chin.
Imposing penalties on the defaulters would go a long way in achieving positive results. Let us hope that the authorities will spare none and initiate stern disciplinary action in this regard thereby assuring safety to the public at large.
