The decision by the Goa govt to allot 400% extra FAR to boost construction activity at the Kadamba plateau will only spell doom for the small state of Goa which is now reeling under the multiple problems of poor and insufficient infrastructure that are causing problems for the residents due to poor planning, resulting in overcongestion, traffic jams, destruction of the ecology, acute shortage of drinking water, erratic power supply, poor network connectivity, etc. Only a few years back flat owners of Kadamba plateau were up in arms against the PWD , protesting on the streets, as they did not have drinking water for their daily use and had to buy tanker water at high rates, as there was no drinking water pipeline in the area. Promises made by builders were also never kept. One therefore wonders what will happen once the concrete jungle comes up on the plateau with the increased FAR and with no proper infrastructure in place.
