Unused edifices deteriorate faster than those inhabited

The government has ‘explained’ its decision to build a new Governor’s residence saying that crores are being spent to maintain the same every year. Further the existing one will remain intact and not be disturbed or modified. What a canard. Will the govt not still spend to maintain the same? Unused edifices deteriorate faster than those inhabited. A key point is the finances which are hanging by a thin line. The govt cannot provide drinking water to all Goan residents whose ancestors lived here 450 years ago! Further, a new edifice will mean using up more precious land and further blotting the sky! This same govt is running away from the crowded  coastal belt tourism to the uncrowded hinterland! There seems to be no consistency or continuity in the planning.  It is very clear that the move is to change history using the monies of the current living citizens to achieve their ends. Time for the Opposition to file PILs noting the precarious finances and the illogical reasons put forward for the same. What is terrifying is the way people are lapping up these blatant canards that are regularly being put forward. This is the only consistent part of the BjP.
