This is with reference to the report, "11 years on, Margao bus stand project still a dream - The Goan Everyday October 5, 2022". Eleven years on and still no sign of the Margao bus stand? Should that be surprising or shocking news? There could be perhaps several such projects which may have remained on paper or in very slow progress in other cities as well. Like the Mithi river in Mumbai which overflowed during the big deluge in 2005 - the progress is very slow, we are still to see the banks of the river being fully developed and the river restored to its earlier glory.
Needless to say, infrastructure projects like the Margao bus stand should be fast tracked. But then, the authorities seem to be too busy tackling other issues which are not of interest to the general public. We need to set realistic deadlines and stick to those deadlines.
