In Maharashtra, for English medium schools, the 2nd Language i.e. official language Marathi is mandatory in all schools (Foundation years: 1-5th Standard); where as in Goa, the Goa government strangely gives the flexibility for schools to drop Konkani in the foundation years 1-5th Standard and hence some (national/international) schools have conveniently dropped Konkani and introduced Hindi instead as second language/subject? Why is the official language of Goa not prioritised in Goa at least as second language/subject as done in Maharashtra and many other states?
