Curtains were finally drawn on the WC tournament in Qatar, with the crowning of Argentina ,the world champions after beating France in a penalty shoot out. Lionel Messi being the star performer with his aides Julian Alvarez, Cunha all did a wonderful job on the front lines.
Messi rose to the top from very humble beginnings, coming from a middle class family, in Buenos Aires suburbs. Groomed by his father at a tender age he was diagnosed with a health condition known as growth hormone deficiency . For this he had to get an injection everyday to enhance his growth. These injections were getting costlier and the family could not bear the cost of the drug. FC Barcelona sponsored his injections when they roped him to play for the club. He rightly scored his first goal for the club at the age of 17 .The family had to leave Argentina to settle in Spain. He clinched lucrative deals with numerous clubs. He figures in many world awards too, rightly becoming the world's greatest footballer of all time. His life is a legacy for all who are determined and have self belief in themselves to succeed.
