Britain has unearthed a new variant of the Covid 19 with the detection of around 1000 such cases in one particular area. An ever-vigilant surveillance system enabled the discovery of this variant. Now, a study will be required to see how differently this variant acts and whether the vaccines will have any impact on it or no. This discovery, coupled with a spike in cases in London, has prompted the UK to put London on alert. The doubling rate is just seven days. One reason for the new ‘Spanish strain’ was tourism in the summer. Given this fact, Goa will have to remain ever watchful and never let its guard down.
