No sign of Covid relief for traditional people


Our hard working Goan brothers and sisters after hearing the news that the government would give one time relief of Rs 5000 to those in the traditional occupation due to the pandemic seem to be in the lurch.

Hundreds of people rushed to submit their forms to the concerned officials but till now the money has not come into their accounts.

This seems to be another ploy by the government just to divert its failure in tackling the Covid crisis.

It was really sad to see hundreds of Goans rushing to their MLAs, panchayat offices and getting their required papers, but to no avail till now.

With elections round the corner, it would be prudent if the government releases the promised relief of Rs 5000 to those involved in the traditional occupations.

Warning boards near water bodies needed

Yet again a young life has been snuffed out at the Aravalem waterfalls where a youngster entered the stream and got drowned. The other water bodies that are dangerous are the Dudhsagar waterfall, Baga creek and some of the beaches due to rip currents and rare rogue waves. Despite the fact that there are lifeguards at most places, red flags and warning boards are erected yet, people enter the water bodies.
