Pakistan PM Imran Khan's greetings to Hindu citizens on the occasion of Diwali have evoked several sarcastic comments on social media, amid growing human rights concerns in the country. But like his ‘little heart’, the message too was reduced to a few words. Imran wrote, “Happy Diwali to all Hindu citizens.” Whether any Hindus are left in Pakistan is a natural question that people would like to ask. Imran Khan has really cut a joke by extending the Diwali greeting. Pakistan has always been targeted worldwide for perpetuating violence against its minorities. This is manifested in various forms of targeted violence, mass murders, extrajudicial killings, destroying temples, abduction, forced conversion to Islam, etc, making Pakistani Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Ahmadiyyas and Shias the most persecuted minorities in the region. They do not have religious freedom. They are living in an atmosphere of great fear and dread. A large number of people have migrated to other countries, including India. The population of Hindus in Pakistan was around 24 percent of the total population in 1947, which has now reduced to just one percent.
