Pampering of taxi owners must not be encouraged

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, keeping an eye on the upcoming assembly elections, has now decided to provide free digital meters to all the taxi owners. These same taxi owners have been blackmailing respective governments and refusing to install digital meters for their taxis and continue looting their clients by giving silly excuses.

Unfortunately, the CM seems to be currently hell bent on wasting public funds and pampering the taxi owners for his own political survival in Goa. Can't these taxi owners who have looted tourists over the years and have bought 3 to 4 vehicles within a short period of time afford to buy digital meters for their taxis? This indeed sounds like a big joke.

If CM Sawant wants to impress Goans then instead of wasting public funds on taxi owners, he should seriously decide to distribute some money to the youth (including the guys who were working on ships) who have lost their jobs since the beginning of the pandemic and are currently staring at an unsure future.
