It is unfortunate the cleanliness and hygiene around the Military Hospital opposite Kala Academy is of such abysmal quality. On Christmas day at 6 pm, I noticed that sewage was overflowing from their latrine on both the sides towards main road and bylane. Generally, we used to see Military buses and vehicles parked in front of these walls. For the last 25 days residents have been complaining. The sewage starts overflowing from 6 pm onwards everyday deliberately under the cover of darkness. The military personnel should have acted to plug the leakage. A military hospital should be an example and not on the contrary be caught napping by overflowing sewage creating nuisance in the area. It casts a definite degree of laxness on the part of those within the military hospital complex and sends negative messages bordering on dereliction of civic duties on their part. This calls for military complex in the city to be shifted to some other place, which has in the past and even today suggested by the city fathers, to make way for an underground parking spot. But it is travesty that the local councillor did nothing about it, although she stays in the vicinity of this hospital.
