In a front-page advertisement, the Chief ElectricalEngineer announced a planned shutdown of only EHV lines/sub-stations on 11/4with the entire South Goa going without power from 7 am to 2 pm. He further states that other plannedshutdowns of 11/33 KV will be taken up later ‘as scheduled’!
We are 2 months from the monsoons and surely all thesubstations could have planned the maintenance on the same day! The governmentalready informed the public that this year the summer would be hotter thanbefore. The public are indeed dispensable even in the eyes of the bureaucrats!
The vaccination drive is being held on all days includingSundays: hopefully all such centres have adequate power backup for therefrigerated storage of the vaccines and fans for the people. Otherwise, wewill see the public removing their masks because of the heat.
