Twenty plasma donors from Mangor Hill, Vasco were recently felicitated by the United Citizens of Mangor, at the community hall, Mangor. The health officer of Chicalim sub-district hospital emphasised the importance of plasma donation by those who have recovered from the Covid virus. He appreciated their efforts and called them ‘heroes of the present crisis’.
Indeed, these 20 donors are our real heroes at this point when our State is going through an extremely difficult situation. Every day one can hear of 5/6 deaths and over 400 positive cases being reported.
Plasma is a commodity which is not easily available in the market. The act of these 20 people from Mangor, Vasco will never be forgotten by Goans.
The daily health bulletin of the government states that over 300 people recover from the infection. It would be in the fitness of things that even if half of these recovered patients come forward to donate plasma on a daily basis, the war against this deadly virus can be won easily.
We all have to stand together in this deadly fight. The government must also create awareness on plasma donation so that people don’t have fear in coming forward to donate.
