Floods have badly hit talukas of Sattari, Bicholim, Ponda, Dharbandora , Bardez and Pernem while other areas also suffered considerable damage.
Reports also say that 3 to 4 people lost their lives in these areas while other families suffered enormous losses.
Government-run schools have been converted into temporary shelter homes to accommodate people evacuated from flood areas.
Several rivers including the Chapora, Valvanti, Kushawati, Talpona have been in spate and were flowing above the danger levels.
The losses suffered by the people will run into crores of rupees. The government must immediately launch a survey by the respective mamlatdars to find out the exact number of people that are affect.
It would also be in the fitness of things that the government could provide immediate relief to those affected by the floods.
