A State is like a corporate company. The directors and CEOs are elected with no skills to run a corporate organisation. They have IAS advisors for this. Sadly, all such officers give up their powers to the elected. They get away with this because they still have champions who ‘praise’ ‘honest’ officers. They also are happy to not own responsibility.
In this pandemic, we first saw the exorbitant rates paid for PPE equipment and ventilators -- more than what even the Centre paid. Next, we saw the capping or rather ‘uncapping’ of rates for Covid patients in pvt hospitals.
Now we ‘hear’ there will not be any ‘abnormal increase in prices of medical oxygen. We are told there is no shortage of medical oxygen. We need to worry when we hear all this. Cylinders need to be recycled. We need double the number of cylinders than what is used. Non-receipt of empties means less time to fill.
Asilo doctors’ were told to use ‘whatever’ quality masks the hospital purchases. Is the purity of oxygen checked? Medics use medical air and medical oxygen; one cheaper than the next. How does all this come about? Social media has a meme showing a ‘covid’ log shouldered entirely by doctors’ with IAS officers and politicians only miming. A student failing in 1 subject does not get promoted. Praise must be given to those owning responsibility and showing results.
