At various places in Ponda will one come across defunct streetlights making life miserable for pedestrians at night, not to talk of the advantage disorderly elements take in the cover of darkness. The high mast lamp at old bus-stand stands tall in darkness. Fixtures in the vicinity of State Bank of India at Sadar, as also some fixtures at Tisk and also along the stretch of the road leading towards the sub-district hospital have been found to be non-functioning.
Similar is the case adjacent to PWD-Water Division at Daag, Gholiwada-Talaulim and also along the stretch of road leading from Mahalaxmi temple at Talaulim towards Kaswada-Durbhat. Of serious concern Adpai jetty without streetlights.
The higher officials at the electricity department in Ponda should take a note of above instances and carry out prompt action.
