Should we be wasting our resources on celebrations?


In yet another action demonstrating government’s misdirected and frankly doubtful priorities, Rs 100 crore is sought to be spent on Goa Liberation Day celebrations. 

A cash strapped government, which is continuously increasing Goa’s debts, is wanting to fritter away the already scant resources. 

While there is a glaring lack of infrastructure should we be wasting our resources on celebrations? 

With the raging pandemic, shouldn’t our priorities be health care affordable to common man, RT-PCR tests at subsidised costs?  Our infrastructure - roads, garbage disposal and a host of others are begging for attention. 

The electorate needs to keep in mind such frivolous actions of the government during our next opportunity to get better governance.
