Teachers our second parents and school our second home

Teachers our second parents and school our second home

Globally, Teachers' Day is celebrated on October 5 but in India, it is celebrated on September 5.

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - first Vice-President of India and the second President of India and an educationist at heart.

It was his friends and former students who approached him and requested him to let them celebrate his birthday, which falls on September 5. The year when Dr Radhakrishnan assumed the post of the President of India. He also was a believer in teachers being the best minds of the country.

Teachers are the best mind in countries. They gently nudge us to become good members of the society and are our second parents and school second home.

Although we're stuck indoors due to a pandemic this year, you can still call and message your favourite teachers to wish them on this day. Send your teachers a gift, write a letter to them or organize a virtual call with your teachers and batchmates to celebrate this day with them.
