Goa now has 4,896 active cases, of whom 270 are persons under home isolation. The total confirmed cases presently stands at 19,863 of whom 14,747 have recovered.
The deceased persons include a 54 year-old woman from Davorlim, who was brought dead to South Goa District Hospital on Thursday and was found to be Covid-positive post mortem and a 60-year-old woman also from Davorlim, who was brought dead to South Goa District Hospital on Friday and was found to be Covid-positive post mortem. A 78-year-old man from Ribandar with co-morbid conditions passed away on Thursday while a 73 year-old woman from Benaulim and a 76 year-old woman from Aldona admitted at Goa Medical College and Hospital with co-morbid conditions expired on Thursday. A 75-year-old man from Vasco admitted at GMC, passed away on Friday. A 65-year-old woman from Betki and a 48-year-old unknown man admitted at ESI Covid Hospital with co-morbidities succumbed to the infection on Thursday.
Meanwhile, President of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and former Priol MLA Pandurang “Deepak” Dhavalikar has tested positive for Covid-19. It may be recalled that his brother and Marcaim MLA Ramakrishna “Sudin” Dhavalikar had also contracted the infection some days back.

Files sent to CM for approval sanitised, clarifies CMO
PANAJI: Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday issued a clarification to the general public stating that files cleared by CM Pramod Sawant are duly sanitised before and after being put up for his signature.
Sawant, who tested positive for Covid-19 on September 2, is currently isolating at home as he is asymptomatic. A photo of Sawant working from home and clearing files was released by CMO earlier on Friday. The images drew strong reaction from people who raised the concern of spread of the virus through contaminated files.
“Public in general and the personnel of the government of Goa are hereby informed that files being cleared by Hon CM are duly sanitized... Urgent matters are communicated digitally. The government is responsible and sensitive towards the people of Goa,” the clarification reads.
