This is with reference to the report, "Power minister pitches for solar panels in fallow fields - The Goan Everyday - October 23, 2023." Using fallow fields for setting up solar panels to generate energy may sound interesting. The State does need power generating plants. However, this is just a thought -- would it not be better if they could explore the possibility of turning around these fallow fields into cultivable lands though proper irrigation and appropriate fertilizers? Isn't farming important for sustaining life? There may come a time in the not too distant future when we may have no food on our dinner table. We need to give it a serious thought.
