The trend of going to bars and restaurants is on the decline because the wholesale liquor stores in Goa are turning into places that do not mind allowing its customers to drink. We can see migrants, including some Goans, buying liquor bottles from the wholesaler and sit to drink in plastic glasses taken from the latter. The wholesalers do not mind providing plastic glasses as they want customers to patronise their outlets. This has set a wrong precedent for drinking in the open air. Also, one can see a lot of garbage in the form of plastic glasses and liquor bottles. The wholesalers also resort to cheating by selling liquor bottles at higher rates than what is prescribed. Every liquor store in Goa seems to have different rates for one particular brand of liquor. The authorities concerned should take note of this and take action against such wholesalers.
