Assure regular water supply at Adpai

With the central government assuring to sanction around Rs 1500 crore under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ to the state for improving water supply, the state government has decided to provide 24x7 water supply to the consumers by 2022. As a matter of fact, it is rather unfortunate that the village of Adpai in Ponda (which happens to be a part and parcel of Marcaim constituency) does not receive regular water supply. Tap water is available only early morning and late evening/night. During the daytime, taps run dry thereby delaying household activities like cooking, washing utensils etc. Over the years the local MLA Sudin Dhavalikar did not succeed in assuring 24 hours water supply to the village population. The long-cherished dream of Adpai villagers for regular water supply should not remain merely on paper but must become a reality soon. Certainly, the basic needs of citizens cannot be taken for granted at any instance but must be fulfilled on a priority basis. Since water is life, let us hope that the residents of the entire Marcaim constituency (of course, including Adpai village) will receive 24 hours water supply once the water supply augmentation project scheduled in this jurisdiction is completed.
