It should worry us that democracy is in doldrums

It should worry us, that an alleged Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is weaponized to become a tool of disenfranchisement. It should worry us, that troops are pulled out of a disturbed state, to 'manage' elections.  It should worry us, that delimitation has become a tool of gerrymandering. It should worry us, that opposition candidates are increasingly being forced to withdraw from the race. It should worry us, that the commentariat refuses to speak up, on this institutionalised rigging. It should worry us that even a pretence of democracy has ceased to exist in India.

There are areas in Colva which are having extremely irregular water supply and others where the water pressure is very poor. It has been my observations that quite a few affected villagers are raising the issue with the local MLA and PWD engineers/office/workers.
